Packing list: Thanksgiving weekend

November 22, 2017

I’m heading up to the Bay Area for Thanksgiving, and am excited to see some family.  As always, I’ll be packing light and including some really comfy options.  Food-baby friendly and easy mix-and-matching!

SHERPA JACKET – Current/Elliott, made in USA (similar made in USA) // This is probably unnecessary for most of my time there, as it’s expected to be in the 70s, but there may be some dramatic temp swings at night, and I haven’t had occasion to wear it at home for a while, so what the heck.  I’m bringing it.

CARDIGAN/TURTLENECKVetta, made in LA // This versatile sweater is a travel no-brainer and works really well with my ponte pants.

CHAMBRAY TOP – H&M Conscious, old (similar made sustainably) // I’m keeping tops light since it should be pretty mild, and this one always makes me feel great.

CROPPED SWEATER – Everlane, made responsibly (similar full length) // This soft layer folds up really small, so its great for packing.

WHITE TEE(S)Everlane, made responsibly // It’s always nice to have these to layer under things.

SATCHELCambridge Satchel Co., made responsibly // I haven’t used this bag in a while, as I’ve downsized my daily load so much that my mini purse is usually enough, but I’m missing it a little bit, so I thought I’d take it along on this trip.  I may even slip a paperback into it for my short little flight.

PONTE PANTSBrass, made responsibly // I haven’t decided which of my comfy pants I’ll be wearing on Thanksgiving, but they’re equally forgiving, and something tells me my mother will be more approving of these sleek beauties.

CLYDE PANTS – Elizabeth Suzann, made in USA (other colors) // I’m having a real love fest with these guys lately.  They are fantastic for big meals, bloat, and plane rides.

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIXJ.K. Rowling // My husband and I love reading Harry Potter books to each other to unwind when things get stressful, but it has been hard to get through this one.  The Umbridge era is just so dark!  The holidays always make me crave Harry, though, and it’ll be fun to loop my sister into our reading seshes while we’re up there.

PAJAMASEberjey // I’m tempted to ask for some more pajamas for Christmas, I just love them so much.

BANDANAOnly Child, made in USA // Because my palette is so neutral, I wanted to throw in something with an autumnal shade.

MULES – Rachel Comey, made in USA (in bone) // I haven’t gotten much wear out of these this season yet, but it feels like they’ve just been waiting for the holiday.  I know they’ll look good with both my pant options, and I might even try them with visible socks.

SNEAKERSVeja, eco-friendly // Sneakers make an easy alt shoe for running around town.

TOILETRIESFlight 001 bag // I’ll definitely be bringing some bold lipsticks for a dash of color.

COZY SOCKS – My mom usually has these for me to borrow, so I probably won’t even have to pack them.  🙂

Hope you all have wonderful holiday plans!  Are you going anywhere?

It’s been a while since I’ve re-read the Harry Potter books, but I like to re-watch the movies around the holidays. I never seem to get past the third or fourth movie though, for the same reason: it gets dark!

We are actually heading down south to LA for Thanksgiving with my in-laws. Fingers crossed there isn’t too much traffic! (ha. ha. ha.)

I also always want to watch those movies during the holidays! They feel like Christmas movies. And ooof good luck with your drive! I hope you have some good podcasts to listen to.
