This past weekend, I was in Asheville, North Carolina for my best friend’s wedding! It’s such a lovely city, and it’s where I got married, so I was really emotional about it, and I was so excited to celebrate with my friend. I basically sobbed through the whole dinner, which was chock-full of beautiful toasts. The rehearsal dinner was super relaxed, and many guests were camping at the wedding venue, so I’m took primarily casual clothes, along with my bridesmaid dress. It was actually my first time as a bridesmaid! Here’s what I packed in my bag:
SHERPA JACKET – Current/Elliott, old (similar, made in UK) // I picked this rugged little buddy to be my jacket for the trip. Temps were in the 70s, but steep dips at night.
HIGH NECK BLOUSE – H&M Conscious, old (similar, made in USA) // I wanted at least one top that was pretty as a more polished option. I didn’t end up needing this.
CARDIGAN/TURTLENECK – Vetta, sustainably made in USA // I was originally going to take my gray pullover sweater and my black cardigan, but this genius sweater from Vetta came out just in time for my trip. I wore it as a cardigan on the flight and as a crew neck pullover during the stay.
GREEN SWEATSHIRT – Everlane, old (other colors, responsibly made) // Another comfy top.
WHITE TEE – Everlane, responsibly made // My softest t-shirt is always nice to have while traveling.
RAIN JACKET – RAINS, responsibly made // Just in case of showers. Thankfully, I didn’t need this, but it’s so light and thin that it’s like packing nothing.
LEGGINGS – Girlfriend Collective, eco-friendly // These are nice and tight, great for flights.
CLYDE PANTS – Elizabeth Suzann, made in USA (other colors) // I’ve taken these pants to Asheville before, and they worked out really well. They’re so nice and sturdy that they seem great for camp sites, but I actually only ended up wearing them for my flight home. Leggings would have works too, but it’s nice to have pockets.
WEDGIE JEANS – Levi’s WaterLess, made from USA denim with water-saving efforts // My favorite jeans are surprisingly comfortable, and always make me feel cool.
SATIN DRESS – H&M Conscious, old (similar, eco-friendly) // I lucked out by having a bride who let us pick out our own dresses (they just had to be a nature-y green). I found this one, made from recycled material, at a great price point.
BANDANA – Reclaimed Vintage, old (similar) // A really easy accessory to bring just a little extra to an outfit.
TOILETRIES + CURLING IRON // Something like this.
BEANIE – Bridge + Burn, made in USA // Great for chilly nights.
BOOTS – Doc Martens, made responsibly // I tend to reach for these whenever camping is involved.
OPEN-TOE BOOTIES – Report, old (similar, made in Italy) // These were actually my wedding shoes, so I feel very sentimental about bringing them back to Asheville. They are absolutely terrible to stand in on hilly terrain though, so I changed into my boots promptly after the ceremony.
Other stuff: SUNNIES – Ray-Ban // NECK PILLOW – Comfy Commuter // PAJAMAS – Eberjey // Book (My husband just gifted me this, and I thought it would be great for such a romantic trip) // TRAVEL TOTE – Everlane
Last minute, I threw in my Birkenstocks too. I didn’t really need them, but they were nice to have for padding around in the morning of the wedding.
