Fall outfits 21-25

November 8, 2017

Some outfits from before I went out of town!  It was just starting to cool down a bit, so I got some sweaters and outerwear in, and I was so excited.  We even had a bit of rain!

This was my La Croix-matching outfit.  I feel like it looks a little bright here, but I’m hoping it was more low-key in person.  This sweater works with a front-tuck, but is sort of awkward length with these pants, so it didn’t work out as well as I’d hoped.  And now I’m back to wondering if I should keep these pants long…it seems like that’s what’s trendy right now?  Can I pull this off?  Maybe the trick is shoes that reveal more of the foot.

I wore this to a casual rooftop birthday gathering, and I was thrilled to re-discover my lost Ruby Woo in a jacket pocket.  Sometimes a little daytime lipstick makes something really feel festive.  I’ve been re-wearing this basic outfit over and over, but at least I’m mixing it up with some beauty details.  Been liking a middle part occasionally.

Finally!  It was cool enough to wear my leather jacket.  This was actually a rainy morning, and I nearly grabbed an umbrella for the walk from my car to work.  I wasn’t sure about mixing white jeans with black leather, but the tan bag breaks it up nicely and makes it less severe.

I grabbed these shoes because it was a yoga morning, so anything slip-on is perfect, but I didn’t even realize that I haven’t officially included them in my fall capsule.  I guess I’m getting more lax about my separate storage for “off-season” items, but oh well.  This outfit is very easy, very soft, and very me.

Now THIS is what I imagined wearing when I made my optimistic fall capsule:  a crisp, professorly, 70s look.  I’m praying the weather stays reasonable when I return from Paris, so I can keep things like this blazer and these boots in rotation.  Excuse my Dutch angle here–had an issue with my tripod.  🙂

Hope you’re all having a great week!  P.S.  You can follow along with my travels here.

You look like such a rockstar in outfit 23. Or maybe even some Indie rockstar’s hot LA girlfriend. Either way, you look awesome.
