I’m playing catch-up now with some outfits that I wore before but didn’t get around to posting before the Fall 10×10.

My love affair with white jeans continues through all seasons, and while this feels pretty summer-y with the Birks, I love the grounding dash of rust from this bandana. Only Child introduced it to raise money for the NAACP in response to the white supremacists in Charlottesville, and I so appreciate ethical makers who have a heart for social justice. And the color is really beautiful in person. My sister-in-law got me this shirt, and I was initially scared by the size small because I normally like more relaxed tees, but it’s actually nice to have a slimmer option sometimes. #hipdips

My best friend gave her bridal party these gorgeous pressed plant necklaces for her wedding, and it was the sweetest gift. I’m in love with mine, which has a tiny fern leaf and is the perfect minimal pendant I was looking for. This outfit is a little less effortless than it may appear, due to itchy wool and a sweater that likes to pop out of its tuck, but I like the vibe. I love a throw-on-and-go sweater, but I may have to start layering tees underneath for comfort.

As much as I’m craving chillier temps, I’m counting my blessings that the weather is still warm enough to wear these shoes. The shoes and the lipstick are the only thing making this outfit feel pulled together today, because it was just one of those mornings where eye makeup, hair styling, and a bra weren’t happening. These shoes are also breaking in nicely, and don’t hurt nearly as much to wear anymore!
My work threw a staff appreciation party at the horse races, and it was a scorcher! I had never been to a horse race before, and was told you’re supposed to do it up in a sundress and big floppy hat, but considering I don’t really have that kind of thing, I decided to go for practical breezy linen and call it a day. The crowd was dressed on a spectrum, so I didn’t feel out of place, and I was glad I was comfortable. If you’re looking for the best wings at Santa Anita, check out the Korean stall and try “Mom’s Recipe”! I loved the savory sesame glaze, and it had a great crunch.

I got a bit gussied up for this special occasion and while we were waiting for an Uber, I tried to turn my husband into and Instagram husband for this shot. 😉 We were on our way to a rooftop bar to celebrate the engagement of one of my best friends from college. He and his fiancé are two of the most wonderful people I know, and it couldn’t have been a better night. (Even our Uber driver on the way home, an immigrant from South Africa, lifted our hearts with his love for and continuing hope in the US!) I now have my TWO besties getting married off, and it’s so lovely to see them so happy.
