A Classic, Neutral Fall 10×10: Outfits Part II

October 20, 2017

Here are my final 5 outfits from my Fall 10×10!  (You can catch up on my 10 pieces and first 5 outfits here if you missed it!

FALL 10×10 OUTFIT 6

SOURCES // sweater – Vetta, sustainably made in LA // jeans – Levi’s Waterless,  made from USA denim with water-saving efforts // boots – Loeffler Randall, old (similar made responsibly) // mini purse – Baggu, made in USA // lipstick in Zip – Glossier

There was a nip in the air this morning, so slipping into this sweater after yoga class felt amazing.  As a crewneck, it has the coolest button-back detail, and I kept the sleeve-rolling going because it worked so well the day before.  I also managed a full tuck!  Because of the bulk of this sweater, I didn’t know if it would work (and still don’t think it will with every pant), but with a little smoothing and adjusting, I’m happy with the result.  I think it’s just about blousing it out just enough to make sure the tucked parts will hold but are not too bunchy.  I’m super comfortable with this outfit in look and feel.

FALL 10×10 OUTFIT 7

SOURCES // tee – Everlane, made responsibly // jacket – Steven Alan, made in USA (similar made in USA, similar vintage) // pants – Brass Clothing, made responsibly // sneakers – Veja, eco-friendly // sunnies – Ray-Ban

I like to call this look “Sleepy Boss.”  Without the blazer, I’m basically in a tee and leggings, and the no-makeup look says “I really didn’t care too much today.”  Effortless!  Haha but really.  It’s amazing how powerful this blazer is.  It’s such a statement that I get compliments on it every time I wear it.  I was initially afraid to pair it with black pants, thinking it might be too stiff/formal for my office, but I really like how surprisingly laid-back this all is.

FALL 10×10 OUTFIT 8

SOURCES // sweater – Vetta, made sustainably in LA // ponte pants – Brass Clothing, made responsibly // boots – Loeffler Randall, old (similar made responsibly) // tote – Everlane, made responsibly // lipstick in Jam – Glossier

I made a last-minute swap on my outfit in the morning (ignoring what I’d laid out the night before) and reached for this sweater again, just because I wanted to feel cozy.  Because I’m letting myself off the hook about versatility this challenge, it’s really freeing to just wear what I feel like.  I might have found more variety in attaching the turtleneck, but it wasn’t cold enough to really demand that.  I front-tucked the sweater this time, for a slouchy vibe that feels very me.  This would make a great travel outfit for wearing on a plane, although I’d probably wear the sweater as a cardigan with buttons in front.  The pants are super  stretchy, and the boots would slip on and off easily though security.

FALL 10×10 OUTFIT 9

SOURCES // tee – Everlane, made responsibly //  jeans – Levi’s Waterless,  made from USA denim with water-saving efforts // sneakers – Veja, eco-friendly // bandana – Only Child, made in USA // mini purse – Baggu, made in USA

Because I’m trying to be chill about variety with challenge, I repeated this bandana, and I have no regrets.  It was a warm day, so I braved the office without outerwear, but I liked this outfit with my blazer as well.  Simple, casual, very me.

FALL 10×10 OUTFIT 10

SOURCES // tee – Everlane, made responsibly // dress – Everlane, made responsibly // boots – Loeffler Randall, old (similar made responsibly) // tote – Everlane, made responsibly // lipstick in Zip – Glossier // sunnies – Ray-Ban

I’ve reached the end, and it marks 3 occasions of wearing this dress!  Warm weather made it more frequent than I would have guessed.  This particular combo looked better in person, I promise.  I wanted to try this tee as a pullover sweater, and found that I likes a cropped silhouette better, so I knotted it up at the waist, letting this dress function as a high-waisted pencil skirt.  The boatneck feels a little awkward, as it doesn’t cover the racerback neckline, but I definitely want to try this dress with my actual cropped sweater now, so I think this is still a win.

I’ll re-cap the entire challenge on Monday with some final thoughts and favorite outfits.  If you’ve been participating, it has been so fun to follow along with you on Instagram!
