WINTER 10×10 OUTFIT 1

I wore these pants out at night recently and found them way too drafty for the chill, but for daytime, I’m pretty comfortable. This outfit verges on more formal than I’m totally comfortable with for everyday, so I’m glad the pants are denim to keep it somewhat relaxed. I feel really tall in this look, which I love. In a packing list context, this would be great for going out to dinner in.

I always like to find my way into a 10×10 challenge with neutral looks, because it really starts everything off easy. This outfit almost has a monochromatic quality that I like, and I love the oversized-on-oversized vibe. Sometimes I just want to take up space. I wore a silk pajama tank underneath this sweater to feel extra luxe. Sidebar on these PJs: They are lovely. So nice. I wear a medium, and find the top plenty drapey, but the bottoms a little snug.
WINTER 10×10 OUTFIT 3
My beloved Ruby Woo is down to a little nub. I’ve been enjoying a little break from my favorite red lipstick, embracing the browner Dare You this season, but when I discovered old Ruby in my coat pocket the day before, I thought of this tomato red-and-camel pairing and immediately wanted to wear the brighter shade with these pants. It’s a subtle difference that you probably can’t even discern in this photo, but I love it. This top is a little bulky to be tucking into these pants, and it gets bunchy in the back throughout the day, making me wish I had sized down on this tee, but I like the overall vibe. I wore my coat in the evening when it cooled down.

I always get compliments from the coolest women when I wear these pants. They are one of those purchases that I am SO happy with, because they’ve proven to be so practical, comfortable, and versatile–and they make me feel cool. When I first put together my 10 pieces, I knew I wanted to try this lavender top with these sage-(?) (clay-ish?) bottoms. It’s a nice tertiary combo that I’ve never tried before, and I like it, especially with the red lipstick. I’m wondering if I should make a point to keep the red lips going all challenge…

I did keep the lipstick going, at least for this week! This time I went for an even more vibrant, orange-y red to pair with these camel pants. I knotted my tee in the front to do something a little different than a straight tuck, but you can’t really tell with this coat on. I feel a little swallowed up by the coat, because it looks so dark layered over the navy. I think I might like it better with darker, less rumpled pants, so it’s more streamlined, overall. I’ll probably try this exact formula with my denim wide leg pants later in the challenge.
